  • Is this service free?

    Yes, SEND6 is completely free to use.

    After using our service we hope you find our service valuable and will consider signing up for a business solution. Our business solutions provide a private label version of our service with your company's logo and under your domain name.   • What are the limits?

    This service maintains only the minimum limitations needed to discourage illegal activity and maintain maximum security. This service is designed to provide business users with professional, reliable, and secure file delivery. Towards this goal the following limitations apply:

    • A maximum file size of 100MB for Free plan. Upgrade to paid plan can allow you to send files upto 2GB with web based and 4GB with Send6 Wizard.
    • Files are available for 7-14 days depending on which plan you are. After 7-14 days all files are permanently deleted from our system.
    • A limited number of download per file is applied . Checking the detail here
    • A maximum of 10 recipients is possible. This helps prevent users from using this service to send spam.
    • Transmission, distribution or storage of any material in violation of any applicable law or regulation, including export control laws, is prohibited. This includes, without limitation, material protected by patent, copyright, trademark, service mark, trade secret or other intellectual property rights.
  • How secure is this service?

    This service is designed with the highest security standards in place. Your files are stored on fully redundant and backed up data servers. Our servers are protected behind an enterprise-class managed firewall and intrusion detection system. Servers are located within a protected tier-1 colocation facility with SAS70 Type 2-certification. Access to the servers is protected by 24-hour security guards.

    For an additional layer of security you may zip, encrypt, and password protect the files before sending them. Then you can send the password in a separate email.

Sending

  • How do I send files?

    To send files simply go to the front page here http://www.send6.com and fill out the email form. Here are the specific steps and options:

    • In the "To" field type in the email addresses of the people you want to send files to. You may optionally click the "Add from your address book" link to add email addresses from your Outlook, AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo, or Gmail address book.
    • In the "From" field type in your email address to let your recipients know who the files are coming from. You may optionally check mark "Send a copy to yourself" to get a copy of the email that your recipients see.
    • Now attach the files you want to send by clicking the "Browse..." buttons on the right side of the "Files" section. Browse to the file you want to attach and double-click to attach the file. Repeat to attach a maximum of 6 files. If you need to send more than 6 files you may either ZIP the files, or send an additional email with the remaining files. You do not need to fill all 6 attachment slots. You can attach 1 file and leave the rest blank.
    • In the "Message" field you may optionally add a short email message letting your recipients know what you are sending them. We recommend giving a good description of why and what you are sending, and if necessary how they can view your attachments.
    • Finally click the large "SEND" button once you are finished. You will then see a progress bar showing you the progress of your file upload. Wait until the progress finishes before navigating away from the page or delivery will be interrupted and cancelled. Uploading can take 5-60 minutes depending on the size of your attachments and the speed of your Internet connection.
    • You can use Send6 Wizard to send files directly from your desktop with resume-upload support , and support file upto 4GB.
  • How soon will they get the files?

    After the progress finishes and the files are completely uploaded, an email will be immediately sent out with download links to your files. Your recipients should see your email in their inbox within 1-5 minutes.

  • What if they didn't get the files?

    If a recipient claims to have never received the files, please advise them to check their Junk e-mail box or Spam folder. You may also recommend that they add you to their safe sender list and mark the email as not spam. If the recipient still can not find the email and attachments, try sending it again and notify us at if you see any further problems.
    Tips: In some cases, our system can not send email to the recipients because the recipients reject mails sent from Send6.
    After you upload, at the confirmation page - there are 2 links at the bottom. copy 1 of them and paste it on your own email program and send it to your recipients.

  • How do I know they got the files?

    You will receive an email notification when a recipient views the download page. Also after you send files you will receive a tracking link to track your deliveries. Visit the tracking link to view detailed information on visits and downloads.

  • What happens to the files after?

    Your files will remain available for a maximum of 7-14 days or a maximum of number of downloads per file, whichever comes first. After 7-14 days all your files are permanently deleted from our systems and cannot be recovered. Similar to normal emails and physical package deliveries, you cannot cancel or stop deliveries that are already sent.

  • How do I delete the files?

    To permanently delete the files and cancel further deliveries go to your tracking page. There you will find a link under "Delete File(s)" that will allow you to prematurely cancel the delivery and delete the files.

  • How do I download the files?

    After receiving the email, simply click the link at the bottom to go to the download page. There you will see a list of all files sent with the filename and file size. Click the "Download" button next to the filename to start downloading the file. You may download more than one file at a time.

  • How do I open the file?

    To open the file simply double click the downloaded file. If your computer does not automatically recognize and open the file you may need to contact the sender for instructions on how to open the files. Our service does not modify the sent files in any way and they are exactly as the sender sent them.

  • Can I create a direct link to send?

    Your direct link would look like this: http://www.send6.com/?to=EMAIL where EMAIL should be replaced by your email address. You can use this link on your website or give it to clients to preclude them from typing the email address.

  • I try to send very large file, and it keep failing because my connection is not stable. What should i do?

    Please download Send6 Wizard , it supports resume upload. So you don't have to restart from the begnining.

  • I signed up for the "send unlimited files for 24 hours" why can't I send files totaling over 2gb?

    You can send unlimited files for the period signed up for, however the limit here is 2gb per send. You would just need to break up the send into chunks under 2gb each.

  • When I try to download a file that someone has sent me through your service, I get a Download limit exceeded message. What does this mean?

    If the sender provided the file to more than one person, they may have exceeded the limit set by their account. If you view files instead of saving them to your local system, and view several times, you can exceed the limit this way also.

    Solution:
    1: When you get a download available notice, save the file right away to your local system.
    2: If the file does come up with a limit exceeded message request that the sender resend. (If this happens with a specific sender often maybe suggest an account with a higher download limit. The free account only includes download of a file up to 7 times) the next higher up account has a limit of 50 downloads per send. Online Storage

  • Can I store my files on the Send6 servers?

    Send6 allows you to store up to 100MB of files on the Lite plan, and up to 20GB on the paid plans. You have a Personal Storage area and a Shared Storage area. On the Business and Corporate plans, the shared storage can be accessed by other users that you define.

    To view files and folders and the amount of storage you have available:

    1. Log in to your account.
    2. Click Online Storage. The Online Storage area appears and displays the amount of storage you have available.
      • To view the storage for your shared files and folders, click Shared Storage.
      • To view the storage used by all users on your account, click All Users.
      • To go back to your personal storage, click Online Storage.
      • To view files and folders of a specific user, click All Users, then click the username.

    In the Online Storage area, you can create folders, download files to your hard drive, delete files and folders from storage, move files, and send files.

  • How do I create folders in my online storage?

    You can organize Personal and Shared storage into different folders.

    To create a new folder:

    1. Log in to your account.
    2. Click Online Storage. The Online Storage area appears and displays the amount of storage you have available.
    3. To create a new folder in shared storage, click Shared Storage.
    4. Click New Folder. The Add/Edit folder dialog box appears.
    5. In the Folder Name box, type a folder name.
    6. Do one of the following:
      • To make this a top-level folder, in the Parent Folder box, click the down arrow, then click TOP.
      • To make this a subfolder, click the down arrow, then click the folder in which you want to create the subfolder.
    7. Click Submit.
  • How do I download files from my online storage?

    To download files from storage to your hard drive:
    1. Log in to your account.
    2. Click Online Storage. The Online Storage area appears and displays the amount of storage you have available.
    3. To download files from shared storage, , click Shared Storage.
    4. Select the check box next to one or more files that  you want to download. (Select the check box in the column header to select all files.)
    5. Click Download. A dialog box appears in which you can specify whether to Open or Save the file.
  • How do I delete files from my online storage?

    To delete files from storage:
    1. Log in to your account.
    2. Click Online Storage. The Online Storage area appears and displays the amount of storage you have available.
    3. To delete a file in shared storage, click Shared Storage.
    4. Select the check box next to one or more files that you want to download. (Select the check box in the column header to select all files.)
    5. Do one of the following:
      • On the toolbar, click Delete.
      • In the Task column, click the red X.

      A confirmation message appears.

  • How do I move or copy a file from Personal storage to Shared storage?

    To move or copy a file from Personal to Shared storage:
    1. Log in to your account.
    2. Click Online Storage. The Online Storage area appears and displays the amount of storage you have available.
    3. Select the check box next to one or more files that you want to move or copy. (Select the check box in the column header to select all files.)
    4. Click Shared. The Share Folder dialog box appears.
    5. Do one of the following:
      • Click Copy to the folder below, then specify the folder in the Parent Folder box.
      • Click Move to Folder, then specify the folder in the Parent Folder box.
      • In the Create folder box, type a name for a new folder in which to move/copy the file(s).
    6. Click Submit.
  • How do I move a file from one folder to another in online storage?

    To move a file from one folder in storage to another folder:
    1. Log in to your account.
    2. Click Online Storage. The Online Storage area appears and displays the amount of storage you have available.
    3. To move a file within shared storage, click Shared Storage.
    4. Select the check box next to one or more files that you want to move. (Select the check box in the column header to select all files.)
    5. Click Move. The Move to the folder dialog box appears.
    6. Do one of the following:
      • To move the file to the top-level folder, in the Parent Folder box, click the down arrow, then click TOP.
      • To move the file to another folder, click the down arrow, then click the folder in which you want to move the file.
      • To move the file to a new folder, in the Create folder box, type a name for the folder.
    7. Click Move.
  • How do I send a file from my storage or shared storage?

    To send a file from your storage area or shared storage:
    1. Log in to your account.
    2. Click Online Storage. The Online Storage area appears and displays the amount of storage you have available.
    3. To send a file from shared storage, click Shared Storage.
    4. Do one of the following:
      • To send multiple files, select the check box next to the files that you want to send, then on the toolbar, click Send. (Select the check box in the column header to select all files.)
      • To send one file, in the Task column, click the send (envelope) icon for the file that you want to send.

      The Your ProfileSend from Storage dialog box appears.

    5. In the To box, type the recipient's email address.
    6. To send yourself a copy, select the Send a copy to yourself check box.
    7. In the Subject field, type a descriptive title for the email. For example, instead of "Here ya go!" type "Files for Friday's conference call."
    8. In the Message field, type a brief message. We recommend that you provide a description of why and what you are sending, and, if necessary, how they can view the attachments; however, a message is optional.
    9. To remove an attachment, next to attachment link, click Remove.
    10. Click Submit to send the message.
      The Send your files page appears and displays the details of your send, including a tracking link, date/time sent, and days left until expiration. The Delete File(s) link allows you to permanently delete the files (e.g., if you accidentally sent the wrong file or you need to send an updated version). Recipients can no longer download the file if it is deleted from our servers.
       

    To edit a file in storage

    • In the Task column, next to the file you want to edit, click the edit icon. The file opens in the applicable editor.
  • How do I upload files to my online storage?

    To upload files from your desktop to your personal storage area
    1. Log in to your account.
    2. Click Online Storage. The Online Storage area appears and displays the amount of storage you have available.
    3. Click Upload now! The Upload your files page appears.
    4. Do one of the following:
      • In the drop-down list, click a folder in which to store the file(s).
      • Create a new folder by typing its name in the Create new folder box.
    5. Click Browse.
    6. Browse for the file to upload, then double-click it, or click it, then click Open. The file(s) and a progress bar appear below the Browse button.
    7. Click Send. The upload progress is displayed, then the Online Storage page appears.

  • Can i put Send6 on our own website and allow our partners/clients send files to us?

    Yes you can. The Dropbox of Send6 allows you to put Send6 on your own website by putting a small Javascript code into your website. After login, click on Dropbox and follow the instructions.

  • How do I cancel my subscription?

    You may cancel at any time during the subscription term. If you would like to cancel this subscription,login into your account, click My Account-> Upgrade, select Free plan. Cancelling your subscription will immediately stop all future scheduled payments for this subscription.

  • How do I change the settings?

    To change the setting of your account, you have to login into the system.Then you will see a lot of page allow you to change the setting like Profile,Public Upload....

  • How do we use our own domain name?

    To use your company domain name you must have your IT department add a CNAME record to the company DNS settings. Afterwards you enter this new domain into "Alias for CNAME Record" in Settings to let us know of the change.

  • Can i use my own logo and how can i change it?

    Login to your account , click on My Account - then select Branded Domain/Logo . Your logo must be in jpeg,png,gif format and width must be less than 400px , and height must be <70px

    Send6 Wizard is a desktop tool which help to you send files or upload files to your online storage directly from your desktop. You don't need to login on the web .
